Meet the Owner:
Jim Merkle
A company built on trust, communication, care and relationships
Jim Merkle, Owner of Infinity Home Services, LLC was raised in South Bend, IN and now resides in Niles, MI. Jim always liked to work with his hands and had an interest in houses from construction to maintenance of a property. His skills are broad and well-rounded having worked in the fields of HVAC, electrical and facilities maintenance. He brings over 30 years experience to his home services business.

Jim worked for the University of Notre Dame for over 21 years in Facilities Maintenance. For his last 13 years at Notre Dame, he served as a lead technician where he oversaw a small team of maintenance technicians. He maintained many different facilities including residence halls, The College of Engineering research facilities, The Law School, The Business School, The Basilica of the Sacred Heart, and the iconic Golden Dome. He dealt with many situations relating to the facilities from fires to floods and everything in between. The weather in the Midwest often posed its challenges to the buildings from polar vortex to extreme heat.

Jim always had the desire to be a small business owner. While he knew the home watch business concept was new to the Midwest, he was confident it was a much-needed service with many vacation and second homes around Lake Michigan and several inland lakes. There are also many snowbirds that would need this service throughout the Michiana area.
In July 2020 Jim left Notre Dame to start his own business. His company provides maintenance, repairs, and handyman work for residential and commercial properties. He promotes this company as the small project specialist.
In addition to his years of experience, Jim has acquired valuable training and certifications that include the following:

-
Certificate in Constructions Estimating from San Diego State University
-
Certificate from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for a 10-Hour General Safety and Health training course
-
Certificate in the Essentials of Facility Management from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA)

Providing excellent customer service and building trust in relationships with his clients is a top priority for Jim. He understands that a home is one of the most valuable assets that a person owns. He strives to care for the home as if it were his own. If there are any potential problems found during the home watch inspection, Jim will contact the homeowner and discuss potential solutions.
